Last week I was in Baltimore to visit the Wild and Untamed Baltimore Album Quilt Exhibit at the Maryland Center for History and Culture. While there my husband David and I went to the last two Orioles games of the season. It was so much fun. The orioles lost one and won one so not to bad.
The next day we went to visit Mary Koval at Mary's Quilt Store in Bedford PA!! What an incredible day that was!! Mary was so wonderful. We talked broderie perse and looked at fabric old and new!! I even left with a few special goodies!!! Her shop was incredible!! It was in what used to be an old house built in the 1800s. The staircase that led up to the retreat area and classroom was just stunning!! The light coming in through the windows when we entered the classroom was so bright!! Loved the natural light in that room
definitely putting going to Mary's for a class/retreat on my bucket list
Then Friday came and it was time to visit the museum and see the quilts with a very sweet lady named red Annabelle and Mimi Dietrich!!! There is nothing better than sharing your love of Baltimore Album Quilts with others who love them too!! We laughed, we discovered secrets and had an incredible time together while studying these incredible quilts!! The exhibit will be there until March of next year, if you can, plan to go see these quilts for yourself!!
Then after the museum we went to visit my brother and his fiancé, Sue!!! What a great visit we had with them. Sue does stained glass work and she taught me how to cut glass and helped me make a beautiful spoon rest!!! If your familiar with the Toys For Tots program, sue designed their logo this year!!!!!! It's incredible!! So very proud of her!!
Next for me is the Houston Quilt Festival!!! Hope to see you there!!!
