Persian Feathers
magination and fabric - put the two together and see how far your creativity can soar! Using the needle turn applique technique, students will enjoy working with fabric to create their very own Persian Feathers. They will create a tree and learn how to add skinny branches to the tree trunk. Add in some broderie perse to help design flowers, birds, leaves, and more, and watch the creativity take on a life of its own. Each student will find they are only limited by their own imagination.
Bedford Bouquet
This pitcher filled with flowers would be beautiful sitting on anyone’s table. In this class students will learn to create their own bouquet, from creating a pitcher with depth to filling it with skinny stems lastly adding beautiful flowers using broderie perse. The needle turn applique technique will be taught, find out how fun this technique actually is!
Romance in Bloom
Broderie Perse applique can open up a new world of creativity. With this beginning broderie perse class, students will learn how to cut and create a wreath of their own to surround the romantic center birdcage

Life in a Tree
Beautiful birds and flowers make up this lovely block Life in a Tree. Broderie Perse is a fun applique technique taught in this class. Using the needle turn applique, students will learn not only how to design their own blocks, but how to stitch elements down and how to join stems almost invisibly.
Through the Looking Glass
This enchanting block features a beautiful white swan and peacock in the center of a papercut. Papercuts are a fun way of enhancing a focal fabric, and are a wonderful addition to any applique quilt. The versatility of papercuts gives a wonderful creative aspect as a block on their own, or used as a frame to enhance a focal fabric; a papercut can add another dimension to a quilt.
In this class, students will create their own Through the Looking Glass block. They will also learn to make their own papercut frame to use with a focal fabric of their choosing
Pretty Parrot
This bright happy block is a perfect project for those who want to learn
Broderie Perse. How to cut the fabric, stitch around elements, and choosing fabrics will all be discussed in this class, while students create their own beautiful block. The needle turn will be the applique technique used in this class.
Birds of a Feather
Inspired by an antique quilt made in the 1800’s, Birds of a Feather is a beautiful tree of life applique featuring stunning birds and flowers. Learn or enhance your skills of needle turn applique, or students may choose their own applique technique. This beautiful piece is the center for a larger project which is in progress.
Floral Retreat
Bring your imagination to this class! Broderie Perse is one of the most enjoyable forms of applique. Students will create a Floral Retreat of their own while learning the history of broderie perse.
Students start by playing with the fabric to create a beautiful vase, then learn how to create thin stems that are fun and easy to make. This technique can be used in other projects. After the vase is ready, students learn how to cut and arrange the flowers, then the stitching fun begins. However, the Floral Retreat isn’t finished until the birds and butterflies find their homes.
This is a great class for those who want to learn Broderie Perse or hone their skills. The needle turn applique technique will be used in this class.
Susanna Culp Quilt
This incredible quilt created in 1848 is steeped in history and has connections to Gettysburg and the Civil War. The pattern was created from the original quilt by Brenda Papadakis who has given Dena Rosenberg permission to teach this wonderful quilt.
Students will learn the history of this quilt and the quiltmaker in this class. They will also have the choice to make the entire quilt, just the center, or a teaching project. The teaching project was created by Brenda Papadakis with all the elements in the large quilt but on a lot smaller scale .
The center of this quilt could stand on its own with just a simple binding around it with the finished size being 38” x 48”. The teaching project is a finished size of 18”x20”. Borders can be added to make it larger.
